Shabby Chic Patchwork “Maggie” Dungarees With Appliqués

Fusion of a pair of “Old Navy” super lightweight, soft chambray overalls

This beauties are an Upcycled fusion of a pair of “Old Navy” super lightweight, soft chambray overalls and a pair of well worn lightweight linen cargo pants. The result is a gorgeous, flowing melange of texture, comfort and unique style. I have cut the overalls on the side seams and inserted a linen panel all the way down to make the legs and waist wider. The sides of the waist are gently spring loaded with elastic to create a lovely gather and adjustable function. The panels have usable linen pockets. I have lengthened these with patchwork linen, cotton bandana fabric and denim. They are decorated with beautiful embroidered linen patches taken from a reclaimed table runner. The colours and patterns are reminiscent of Etruscan art. There are so many details in the patchwork and stitching with fraying and distressed areas, so please look at the photos! The bleaching was already done on the overalls, and I have not added any. These would be super for spring and summer, depending on your climate. They are soft and breathable, flowing and fun! Some of the patches even have little hearts!

All materials are recycled except for thread and have been sanitised and stress tested for durability. This item has raw edges, fraying and outside seaming and will distress and weather with wearing and washing. These are a unique, one of a kind item, although I do reuse excess materials in other items of a similar style and nature.

These would fit a small to medium size depending on how you like to wear them. The straps have one button hole, but could have another cut to make them shorter. The legs look great either rolled or straight and could be worn as crops on a taller person.
